When presenting such an important car in Porsche’s history its best to give a brief history. In terms of the 928, in 1989 Porsche moved the game on from the S and S4 with the even more powerful 928 GT, which with a top speed of 170mph was the Stuttgart firms fastest production car at the time before launching the models ultimate incarnation….. the 928 GTS. In 1991 the car was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the latter boasted a 5. 4 litre engine producing 345 bhp. Automatics were fitted with the much faster Dynamic Kick down gearboxes setting them apart from the previous models. Externally the GTS differed from the S4 with new styled Alloys, flared rear aches and a body coloured rear spoiler. What Porsche did not advertising was the price, when released the price was amongst the most expensive car on the road at the time. This severely hampered sales despite the models level of competency and long standing equipment list. Porsche discontinued the GTS in 1995 after only selling 2, 904 examples in total. At the time this was a problem but in 2025 makes this a rare and incredibly desirable model
One of less than one hundred still registered by the DVLA this immacualte example is finished in Black with complmentary black ruffled leather, it is a high specification car with sunroof, air conditioning and upgrade factory sound system. All is factory correct and the car has been maintained to a remarkably high level. Bodywork is arrow straight and the interior is in incredible condition.
All books and keys are present and correct, the service book shows the 1995 PDI stamp all the way through to the latest full service and belt check carried out by a Porsche main dealer last year.
This is a pampered, always garaged example of the Porsche flagship that really does need to be viewed in person to be appreciated.
