Inspired by classic models such as the 356 Cabriolet, Speedster, and 550 Spyder, Grant Larson played a pivotal role in designing the Porsche Boxster. The debut of the first-generation Boxster 986 in late 1996 showcased a mid-engined 2.5-litre flat-six-cylinder engine, delivering 204 bhp and 180 lb-ft of torque.
