The 2001 Toyota Century (GZG50) is an ultra-luxury Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) flagship sedan. Famous for its bespoke craftsmanship, it features the first and only mass-produced V12 engine in a Japanese passenger car. Like other cars in the top of the luxury class, the Century is designed with the rear passengers in mind. Hence, the rear seats recline and the front passenger seat (in right-hand drive cars only) has a fold-down centre section so that a passenger in the back may stretch their feet forward. The rear seats are equipped with a massage system. The rear doors are equipped with a soft-close mechanism. The bodywork is hand rubbed  by craftsmen with 7 layers of paint used to achieve the mirror like finish. Indeed many other aspects of the car are hand made. At 5270mm this is a long car but quite narrow so surprisingly easy to manoeuvre in city traffic. Only 400 were made a year due to the labour intensive nature of production, the second generation was priced at approximately £130000 new.

This stunning 2001 example comes finished in mirror like Black coachwork with a fabulous black leather interior, the wood inlays and deep carpet really make entering this luxury car a special event in itself. Specification is too long to list, needless to say virtually everything has electric adjustment including the seatbelts, the passenger seat even has a fold section for the rear passenger to stretch his or her legs through!
